Collaboration
Goal: To develop knowledge and skills necessary to work in close collaboration with families, health care agencies and group home team members to successfully design and implement technically sound and contextually appropriate positive behaviour support (PBS plans) that improve child, youth, or adult behaviour, life skills, and quality of life.
Purpose: Collaboration with families, health care agencies and group homes is an integral part of my role as a behaviour consultant. I wish do do so in a respectful and meaningful way.
How this impacts my practice: The skills embedded in this goal are deeply embedded in professionalism. I will use this to guide my practice, build relationships with implementors to overall support focus people in improving their behaviour, life skills and quality of life.
Artifacts
1. EPSE 515 - Big Ideas - Parent Training

2. Daily Data Graph
This daily data graph demonstrates the implementation of a comprehensive PBS plan, in collaboration with a focus person's family, healthcare providers and an agency providing residential support over the course of a year. Collaboration was a leading factor towards the success of the PBS plan.
4. EPSE 574 - Helping or Hovering? Effects of Instructional Assistant Proximity on Students with Disabilities
